Ewuraaaaaabeeeenaaaa…..that was how I called you and the response was always a smile. You were one of the seniors that made Holy Child memorable. That smile you always gave is something that can’t be erased from one’s memory. I had to ask if it was the same Charlene we know when I got the news from Marian. It still stings. The last time we met was at Rina’s and as usual I got a hug and that smile that is unforgettable. Ooooo how I use to worry you. Indeed heaven has gained an angel. You are one person I know who loves purely. It’s an honor knowing you Ewurabena. Rest well Ewurabena

Charlene, your kindness, selflessness, and open-hearted love touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing you. For over twenty years, you were a constant source of warmth, laughter, and quiet strength in my life. You always checked in and updated me on life and our friends as I am abroad.
Such a lovely sister and confidante to have. Your generosity of spirit and the way you lifted others without ever asking for anything in return will never be forgotten.

I will miss our catch up gist calls. My dear Charlene , thank you for the light you brought into this world. I will carry your memory with me always, with gratitude for the beautiful friendship we shared.
I can’t stop going through our chats and photos.
Rest peacefully, dear Charlene. You are deeply loved and forever missed.

Dearest Charlene,
Writing this is hard. May God be with you my dear. Its hard for me to write about you in the past. You are the most thoughtful and kind person I know. You always reach out, you have been intentional about calling me on my birthday for years This is the only year you missed and you owe me an answer.
Our friendship started from Holy Child and you made sure to keep in touch. when I told you my expected date of delivery for my first child you said you were praying he comes on your birthday. He came a day earlier and for some funny reason, it was my fault (our own joke). May the angels welcome you home with all your favourite hymns. We surely will miss you..
Until we meet again, my dearest Charlene ❤️

Charlene was a truly beautiful soul—gentle, warm, and effortlessly kind. As my senior in Holy Child, she was always approachable and helpful, and years later, she remained just the same. Anytime we met, especially at Mövenpick, she would greet me with the warmest hug and take a moment to chat, no matter how brief. She had a way of making every encounter feel special.

Her sudden passing is deeply heartbreaking. Though her time with us was short, the sweetness of her spirit, her pleasant nature, and the genuine care she showed to others will be remembered always. Charlene touched lives quietly but powerfully.

May she rest peacefully, and may we honour her memory by extending the same warmth and kindness she so freely gave.

Rest well, Charlene. You will be missed.

Ewurabena – as a child, whenever I found out I would get to play with her, I’d be so excited! I didn’t have the words for it then, but even as a 7 year old, Ewurabena had a way with all the kids. She was so warm, sisterly, sweet and fun, not like a lot of the older kids I knew. I’d hold onto the fun memories of simpler times with her as I got older. Once in a while, we’d reconnect over text or IG well into our 30s. Despite physical distance, she being in Ghana, I being in the States, our connection never wavered. She sent me the sweetest message on October 29th, the day of my beloved Grandma’s funeral – sweet as she was, she just wanted to check in, wish me well, share her prayers with me. I texted very few people that day but I had to text Ewurabena. I had planned to catch up with her in person the following week only to get the shocking news on Monday. I still can’t believe it. But, alas, God knows best. Sleep well my sweet Ewurabena. Your memory will always be one I hold dear to my heart. Until we meet again.
